Ascorbic Acid, Reagent, ACS, is an organic compound that occurs naturally and has antioxidant properties. It is a form of vitamin C and is classed as a reductone and used as an antioxidant food additive. Other uses include reactant in photographic developer solutions, antioxidant in fluorescence microscopy to increase fluorescent signals and chemically retard dye photobleaching.
