Urea, Crystal, Laboratory Grade is an odorless and colorless solid that is an important nitrogen-containing substance found in mammal urine. In concentrations up to 10 M, urea is a powerful protein denaturant as it disrupts the noncovalent bonds in the proteins. This property can be exploited to increase the solubility of some proteins. Laboratory grade products supplied by ScienceLab are indicative of a grade suitable for general industrial use or research purposes and typically are not suitable for human consumption or therapeutic use.
