Potassium Permanganate, Crystal, Reagent, ACS, also known as permangante of potash, is an inorganic chemical compound and is a powerful oxidizing agent. It is water soluble and, when dissolved, becomes a pink to purple solution. It is commonly used in the film and television industry to create an old effect on props and as an antiseptic when diluted. It is also used extensively in the water treatment industry and as a reagent for the synthesis of organic compounds.
