Methyl Red Sodium Salt, Reagent, ACS, is a pH indicator or indicator dye. It works by turning red for pH levels under 4.4 and yellow over 6.2. It becomes orange with a varying spectrum of shade intensities between those two levels. It comes in the form of a rich red crystalline powder. As an ACS grade Reagent, ScienceLab compound is used as the quality standard against which other substances are grade and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and pureness.
