Tannic acid is a specific form of tannin, a type of polyphenol. Tannic acid is usually extracted from: Tara pods (Caesalpinia spinosa), gallnuts from Rhus semialata or Quercus infectoria or Sicilian sumac leaves (Rhus coriaria). It is an inhibitor of NOS3 and a weak inhibitor of NOS2 and NOS1. As an ACS grade Reagent, ScienceLab sulfuric acid is used as the quality standard against which other substances are graded and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and pureness.
