Glycerol, Reagent, ACS, is an odorless, viscous and colorless liquid sugar alcohol (polyol). Glycerol has three hydroxyl groups that allow its solubility in water and give it it's hygroscopic nature. It is used in gel formation for polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and in density modification of gel electrophoresis samples. As an ACS grade Reagent, ScienceLab Glycerol is used as the quality standard against which other substances are graded and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and purity.
