Product Overview
Chloroform, Reagent, ACS
Molecular Formula: CHCl3
Chloroform, Stabilized, Reagent, ACS, is a colorless, sweet smelling organic compound comes in the form of a dense liquid and is a trihalomethane. It is also commonly used as laboratory solvent because it is relatively unreactive, conveniently volatile and is miscible with most organic compounds. Although it uses as a reagent are limited, it is used in organic synthesis in order to produce dichlorocarbene by reacting with sodium hydroxide. As an ACS grade Reagent, ScienceLab chloroform is used as the quality standard against which other substances are graded and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and pureness.
